To honor Christ by representing Him well. That statement characterizes the women’s volleyball program at BBC. Playing for the Defenders gives skilled student-athletes the opportunity to compete at a high level while preparing for ministry. Each year, the concepts of encouraging, serving, and building up one another are emphasized. The women who comprise this team become more well-rounded; they understand what it means to have a balanced life – spiritually, academically, socially and athletically. Winning is fun too. In 2006, after winning the NEAC conference championship, the Lady Defenders became the first BBC team to qualify for the NCAA III National Championships. Women’s volleyball at BBC is not for everyone, but for serious volleyball players who love to give their all on the court and want to prepare for a life of ministry.
