Coach Chris Davis began his career at BBC in 1971 and has coached wrestling, cross country, and track and field over the years. In the fall of 1993, he began our women’s soccer program, which he still presently coaches. His women’s team has been extremely successful on the NCCAA II regional and national levels, but coaching has a bigger purpose for him. While he loves teaching the skills involved with soccer, teaching a proper view of winning and losing and helping to develop character through the sport bring much satisfaction to him.
Davis is a professor in the Health and Physical Education Department, primarily teaching pedagogy and content in physical education. He is also the Chair for the General Studies Division. Outside of coaching and teaching, Davis enjoys fantasy sport competitions, wilderness experiences, biking and running. At his local church, Heritage Baptist Church, he is a deacon and adult ABF teacher. He also coaches the girls’ soccer team at Abington Heights High School. Chris is married to Karen who works in the BBC library. They have two grown married children and six grandchildren.
Coach Davis’ favorite verse is 1 Samuel 12:24 – “Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.” |
