women's cross country
2/3/2010 11/9/2009 8/28/2009
Women's cross country provides runners of all abilities the opportunity to train, race, and serve in a team setting. Workouts are designed to take into account different ability levels. On race day, everyone competes-there is no "bench." While physical talent may vary on the team, we work toward a common focus and attitude, "May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Galatians 6:14). Running, praying, and eating (lots of eating) together helps strengthen the bond we already have in Christ. We like to think that the demands of running and being on a team are not unlike the demands faced in ministry. In athletics, you can either be selfless and disciplined or you can be a "wheelbarrow" easily upset and constantly needing to be pushed. |
