Coach Bill Higley, a 1984 BBC alumnus, returned to his alma mater in 2001 as a professor. He began his coaching career that spring with our newly developed, three-year-old softball program. Since that time, Higley has taken the program to a very competitive level amongst conference and non-conference schools. His favorite part of coaching is the opportunity to build into the lives of the young women on his team and to watch them grow both as athletes and as people.
Higley is an assistant professor in the Global Ministries Department as well as the Coordinator of Local Church Relations for BBC's Ministry Development Department. Outside of the classroom and softball field, he enjoys reading, umpiring, running, and watching sports. At his local church, Parker Hill Community Church, he is an overseer and small group leader. Bill is married to Susan, and they have one daughter, Erin, and three sons, Nathan, Alex and Andrew.
Coach Higley's favorite verse is Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." |
