Defenders Fall to Falcons 0-9

LaPlume, PA - Cedar Crest College defeated Baptist Bible College 9-0 in women's tennis Wednesday, dropping the Lady Defenders to 0-2 in conference and 0-3 overall on the season.

After sweeping the doubles competition, the Falcons entered singles play with a 3-0 lead and in turn went undefeated for the win that evened their record at 2-3 overall and begins a 1-0 start in conference.

The match to watch was in #1 singles when Katie Boger (Newton, NJ) fell 1-6 to Cedar Crest's Maria Mallery (Vestal, NY) in the first set but forced a third set with a 6-2 second set win.

Mallery however took the accelerated third set 10-4 to finish the match.

Baptist Bible will be back in action on Saturday as Neumann College comes into Clark Summit for a CSAC match-up.

The Falcons will travel to Philadelphia Biblical University Saturday.
