Women's Soccer Blanks Neumann

Clarks Summit, PA- The Lady Defenders used the emotion of their own Homecoming and Senior Parent's recognition to defeat Neumann University 2 to 0. It was an important win on a special day for Baptist Bible. Not only did they get the win for all the parents and alumni on homecoming, but they also got another win in Colonial States Athletic Conference play. The win puts the Lady Defenders at 4-2 in the conference.

The first half started out with both teams bringing energy to the field. Neumann and Baptist Bible played hard in an exciting back and forth battle. The game was scoreless until senior Laura Abbey scored on a series of passes across the box by Laurie Plante and Sandy Richie. Abbey's goal came with only five minutes remaining in the first half.

Halftime was a special time when both seniors and their parents were honored for their hard work and dedication. The seniors that were honored were Laura Abbey, Hannah Andrist, Hannah Gibson, Lisa Griffiths, Adria Packard, Sarah Ross, Kirsten Simmons, and Melanie Williams.

The Lady Defenders carried the late first half goal and halftime emotion into the second half. Baptist Bible controlled the ball and the rest of the game. At the sixty-seventh minute, Laurie Plante put the ball in the back of the net on an unassisted shot that sealed the game for the Lady Defenders.

Up next for Baptist Bible will be a home CSAC matchup with Centenary College on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
