Aston, PA- After playing on the road for the second straight night, Neumann University was a little too much for the Lady Defenders volleyball team as they were defeated 3 to 1. The Baptist Bible College women's volleyball team is now 4-2 against Colonial States Athletic Conference opponents.
Neumann University jumped out to a good start in the first game winning by a score of 25-15. But Baptist Bible rallied back in the second game to win 25-20. In the third game the Lady Defenders hung tough, but pushed the Knights to the end in a 27-25 loss. After being down 2 games to 1 game, Baptist Bible was edged out in the fourth game by a score of 25-18 as Neumann University took the game and the match.
Marlie Kneifel, Jessica White, and Emily Gordon set the pace for the Lady Defenders tallying 14, 11, and 9 kills respectively. Katelin Broughton added 34 assist, along with double digit digs from Laura Hodupp (16), Jaycee Shirk (10), and Kelly Bargfeldt (10).
The 8-10 Lady Defenders will play non-conference opponent Rutgers-Camden at Baptist Bible College's Homecoming this Saturday at 11:00 am. Also during this time the seniors and their parents will be recognized.
