Baltimore, MD- Baptist Bible College's Women's Tennis team loses on the road to CSAC opponent College of Notre Dame. Notre Dame swept through the doubles and just about took all the singles as the Gators defeated the Defenders 8 to 1.
In the doubles, Lady Defenders Kate Boger and Kellie Bernard were defeated by Kelcy Bye and Miku White of the Gators 8 to 1. Julie Herr and Rebecca Wagner also could not hold on as they lost 8 to 3 to Madeleine Foster and Steph Thackoordeen. And Stephanie Uza and Manda Hollister were too much for Ruth Oesterling and Emily Gehman defeating them 8 to 4.
Again the Defenders did not quite have what it took to take down the Gators on the singles side losing five of the six matches. Miku White beat Kate Boger 6-4, 6-2. Kellie Bernard lost 6-4, 6-0 to Kelcy Bye. Steph Thackoordeen defeated Rebecca Wagner 6-0, 6-0. While Ruth Oesterling and Emily Gehman each lost to Manda Hollister 6-0, 6-1 and Stephanie Uza 6-3, 6-3 respectively.
The only winner for the Defenders was number three Julie Herr who took down Madeleine Foster 6-3, 6-0 for her 4th win of the year and 3rd singles CSAC victory.
The 1-7 Defenders will host Marywood University next Wednesday at 3:00 pm.
