LaPlume, PA - Keystone College sprinted to a 20-0 win over the Defenders Friday in baseball. The Giants improved to 10-3 on the season with the win.
After a scoreless first inning, Keystone tallied a four run second inning and got back to back homers from Eric Groff (Lebanon, PA) and Ben Fish (Muncy, PA) in a three run third inning as they sprinted to their tenth victory of the year.
Groff went 1 for 3 on the afternoon and scored twice. Fish went 2 for 3 and also scored twice in the game.
The Giants had five players with two RBIs in the game. Esteban Meletiche (Philadelphia, PA) was one of those players as he went 4 for 6 from the plate scattering four singles, scoring four runs and adding two stolen bases.
Mike Hanley (South Plainfield) improved to 4-1 on the season. He threw five innings and allowed only three hits, striking out five and walking one for Keystone.
Only three Defenders hit safely in the game. Two had multiple hit efforts. Eric Teysen (Mackinaw City, MI) and Aaron Klosheim (Cooperstown, NY) went 2 for 4 and 2 for 3 respectively. BBC would not manage any other offense however to help their cause.
With the loss, Baptist Bible falls to 2-3 on the season.
Keystone and BBC will play a double-header tomorrow beginning at 1:00 pm.
