Defenders fall in Final Regular Season Game - Await Playoff Seeding

LaPlume, PA - Despite a 19 point, 17 rebound double-double from Travis Wash (Newport News, VA) the Defenders dropped their final regular season game 65-57 at Keystone College Tuesday.

Baptist Bible held a 31-28 lead at the half despite trailing by 10 just over seven minutes earlier. Nathan Greve (Arcanum, OH) hit a three with five ticks left to give them the advantage at the break. Greve scored all of his 15 points in the first half.

The teams traded buckets for the first few minutes of the second and were notched at 35-35 with 16:00 left. However the Giants would go on a 22-10 run over the next ten minutes to take a 57-45 lead. BBC would trim the lead back to seven in the closing minute, before ending at the 65-57 final.

Khristian Collins (Schenectady, NY) had nine assists and Tom Waszaj (East Brunswick, NJ) finished with 11 points in the loss.

Malcolm Boone also tallied a double-double in the game for Keystone. He had 16 points and 10 rebounds on the evening. Michael Kelly led the Giants with 17 points in the win.

The victory secured a home playoff game Saturday for Keystone. While the Defenders have clinched a postseason position, they will await the results of the remaining games within the conference later this week to see whether they will play at Keystone or at Marywood Saturday.

With the win, Keystone improves to 17-5 overall and 10-5 in the CSAC. They will finish their regular season against Gwynedd-Mercy Thursday.

The Defenders fall to a 10-13 overall record and 8-8 in conference with Tuesday's results. They will play in the CSAC quarterfinal round Saturday. The location is still to be determined.
