Season Wrap-up

2006 Season

The men’s and women’s cross country teams enjoyed several highlights in the 2006 season.

The Lady Defenders ended the season with a second place finish at the NCCAA II National Championships. The key to their solid finish was team scoring as four of their top five runners finished in the top 20, including a fourth place finish by Naomi Metzler (Allentown, PA/Watsontown Christian). The finish at nationals could only be matched up against their second place finish at the BBC homecoming meet where once again they scored well as a team and getting four of their top five runners in the top 20.

The men’s team took fourth place at the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship and Rob Ahrens (Newbury, OH/Cardinal HS) finished in 3rd place overall. Earlier in the season the Defenders took second at the BBC Invitational with three of their runners finishing in the top 10.

BBC cross country will look forward to another great season next Fall and continue to train hard to represent their team, their College, and their Savior as they run each week. Off season training plans will as usual include running, running and running.
