Coach Tom Williams is Assistant Professor of Science at Baptist Bible College and is no stranger to the sport of cross country. He has over fifteen years coaching experience including six seasons as head coach of Baptist Bible College. After ten years of high school coaching, Williams joined Defenders athletics in 2000 and forwarded the cross country program to the forefront of the NEAC and NCCAA II. During his six years as head coach, Defenders Cross Country won three North Eastern Athletic Conference titles and five NCCAA II National Championships (3 women, 2 men). He has also been named Coach of the Year three times by his peers in the NEAC.
Tom sees cross country as an opportunity for runners who feel called to a Bible college to compete, and live out their faith and use their God-given talent. He looks forward to watching the team improve through training, getting to know his runners, and learning how he can pray for them and help them grow spiritually.
