Men's Cross Country Photo

Men’s cross country provides runners of all abilities the opportunity to train, race, and serve in a team setting. Workouts are designed to take into account different ability levels. On race day, everyone competes—there is no “bench.” While physical talent may vary on the team, we work toward a common focus and attitude, “May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ…” (Galatians 6:14). Running, praying, and eating (lots of eating) together helps strengthen the bond we already have in Christ. We like to think that the demands of running and being on a team are not unlike the demands faced in ministry. In athletics, you can either be selfless and disciplined or you can be a “wheelbarrow”—easily upset and constantly needing to be pushed.

God has blessed us most recently with good leadership in the form of our team captains, and with good race results, including wins at the 2003 & 2004 NCCAA II National Invitational. We look forward to what God has for us in the future. If you believe God wants you at BBC, and you enjoy running, contact Coach Williams—he would enjoy hearing from you.
