The Selection Process

Who is eligible?

- Former student-athletes are made available for induction 10 years after completing athletic eligibility.

- Coaches, administrators, and other BBC employees who served the school for at least 10 years and made a significant contribution to the program.

- Others who made truly exceptional contributions to the program over a prolonged period of time.

- Teams that have won a conference or national championship are eligible 10 years after the championship.

How are members selected?

The process is first and foremost influenced by a special emphasis on Christ-like values, personal integrity, and a servant’s spirit that accurately represents and reflects Jesus Christ.

Specific steps include the following:

1. Any interested person may submit names for consideration, along with the supporting information, to the office of Alumni Relations or to the Sports Information Director. Nominations are accepted year-round.

2. Nominees from previous inductions are automatically considered.

3. Previous nominees are considered active for no more than five years.

4. The final selection is done by a committee consisting of the Athletic Director, Executive Director of Alumni & Church Relations, and the Alumni Executive Council.

5. The Athletic Director will notify the person(s) selected no later than one week following the vote of the selection committee.
