Mounting the right lighting system on your vehicle sometimes can be confusing. This is especially true for people who are constantly travelling between states where the laws might be different after crossing the border.
For instance, while fog light and main (high) beam headlamps are important, it’s different when it comes to LED light bar lamps. The experts at Adsafe say that there are many factors to consider. Here are the special conditions when installing the right light bars for your vehicle.
Installing Light Bars
First, LED light bar lamps must be front-facing and should not block the view of the driver. Second, it is in conjunction with the electrical main beam headlamp, which means it cannot be turned on or off separately.
As suggested, these lamps should come in pairs; if not, they should be properly placed symmetrically at the centre. On top of the main beam headlamp, you can only install up to a maximum of two pairs of LED light bars, though you can opt to combine it with other types of lighting system so long as it comes in pair and a maximum of four lamps in total.
Installing Fog Lights
Fog lights are designed specifically to ensure proper lighting during hazardous weather conditions. People use them often during low visibility periods such as fog, snowfall, and even heavy storms. Rules on the use of fog lights state that you need to use this during such conditions. Thus, a separate switch must be installed.
Daytime Running Lamps
If there are lighting systems designed to illuminate the vehicle at night or during hazardous conditions, daytime running lamps make a vehicle more visible to other road users during daylight. This type of lighting system is connected to the main headlight system of the vehicle.
When the vehicle is in drive mode and main headlight system is off, the daytime running lamps are turned on, and vice versa. But unlike the other lighting systems, it emits minimal light of white, yellow, or amber.
Whatever your vehicle, you need safety lights for both day and night-time. Make sure you have the right one for your vehicle.
